Areas of Expertise
K-12 Japanese
Leigg is passionate about world langauge in k-12 education as a method of student empowerment, particularly for at-risk students, both as a method of gaining resiliance and for social change through global competence. In fact, Leigg began a Japanese language program in her school system, which includes a club, and a yearly school and open-to-the-community matsuri (festival).

K-12 English
Leigg has taught grades 9-12 in secondary English. Of particular interest has been magazine journalism. Leigg taught for 13 years a state and nationally ranked high school litearary-art magazine.
Creative Writing
Leigg has taught creative writing as well, both at the secondary and at the collegiate level. She feels any student can bring forth both a strong theme or message and hone the craft to share it, and she always looks forward to the next creative endeavor.
My Approach
As an educator, I am committed to helping students discover their passions while mastering academic content and skills. My passion for writing and international study, particularly Japanese language and culture, drives my approach to education. I believe that by creating an engaging, challenging curriculum and encouraging students to take risks and try new things, we create an environment where opportunities are endless.
